Friendly People, Delicious Curry Place in Central

For locals, we always remember that Chungking Mansions is the most convenient place to get yummy authentic Indian food. FYI Chungking Mansions located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, is best known as little India surrounded by small Indian family business and food.

But what about if you are craving for it on the other side of Hong Kong Island?

This evening we are in Central and found one on Queen's Road Central.

Understand that some of you may get confused with the entrance and here's the picture with eye catchy orange wall for your reference.

Tonight is very quiet but that's good as I don't really like noisy environment. Possibly relevant to the location, but I guess during the work hours should be popular, recommend book ahead as it might get busy.

Sauces that most Indian restaurants usually serve. I personally am a big fan of the mint sauce (The green one of course), tastes right with everything.

The other two I am not sure what they are called, but one of them tastes really like the Korean chili sauce and the other one tastes barbecue.

We ordered Assorted Pakora, some fried snacks before we go on to main.

This dish is veggie friendly and more than enough for two people, especially it's quite filling with the deep fried style.

This is what contains in a Pakora. It is basically flour with mixed vegetable. I prefer to have it with my favourite mint sauce that lowers the greasiness.

Surprising dishes coming up!

Lamb shanks are so nice. The meat is very soft and fell off from the bone very easily, can tell these have been cooked for a while but to perfection when we order.

Pairing with the barbecue sauce I have mentioned earlier, definitely doubles up the deliciousness!

Cannot miss any curry in an Indian Restaurant, and we ordered the chicken curry. From the Chinese menu, I though what will be arriving is a medium size of curry, turns out one person portion. But that's okay as we already had enough from the snacks and lamb.

In case if you can't take too spicy, you are always welcome to tell the staff to reduce the spiciness.

For curry, they carefully divided them into few groups, you can flexibly combine with any of the main and like I said also choose your own spiciness.

Very colourful presentation and great spices. And if you tend to share this with friends and worrying it may not enough, match this with their recommended garlic naan, soft and flavoursome with garlic.

Here is some after dinner spice mix before we leave, to settle the bad breath.

Overall of this meal, staff is very friendly, relaxing atmosphere and colourful presentation. Eating in Central is quite luxurious but this place is surprisingly similar to Kowloon. The staff also told us that they also serve lunch buffet at HKD 88 (exclude 10% service charge).

This price in Central, YES, sounds really a deal! Wonder how it goes, and I am willing to give it a try. :)

Savvy's Food Note rating: 8/10
Expected spending: HKD 250 per pax
